Famed TV talk show host Phil Donahue was known for his long running show "The Phil Donahue Show," which aired for nearly 30 years. Donahue began his career as a local TV reporter in his native Ohio. He earned 20 career Emmy Awards for "Donahue" and, in 1992, the Television Academy inducted him into its Hall of Fame. In 1980, he was awarded a personal Peabody Award. In May 2024, Donahue was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Joe Biden. He died on Aug. 18 at age 88.
